Police chase ends after going through man's yard
News

CHOCTAW, Okla. -- Two men in a stolen vehicle lead the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on a chase Monday morning. Troopers say the chase started up on the turnpike, near the Wellston exit. The suspects made their way down rural roads, winding their way to Northeast 23rd St. near Triple X Road.

That's where it finally came to an end.

Steve Williams was inside his carpet and tile store when the chase went right through his yard.

He says, "That dude hit that corner doing about 90 miles an hour. I thought he was going to roll the whole car."

Chris West, with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, says, "The vehicle was running at a high rate of speed, made some unsafe lane changes which put other people in jeopardy."

Troopers say two men, 19-year-old Lewis Dickinson III and 33-year-old Ryan McDonald, were taken into custody.

The car they were in was believed to have been stolen in Lincoln County.

At times the chase reached speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour.

Once the driver turned through Williams' yard, he stopped.

Williams says, "Woke my Monday morning up."

The car had some damage to the underside from when the suspects drove over a curb and a dent in the bumper.

Police quickly took the suspects into custody.

Troopers say the suspects will likely face numerous charges, some of which could have been avoided.

West says, "They probably should have pulled over and given up. They made it worse on themselves by not giving up."
