A fun festival that will celebrate one town's industry is coming to Meeker this weekend.
The Meeker Pecan Festival will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012 through Saturday, October 13, 2012.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities surrounding Lincoln County's history as a top pecan producer.
Vendors will be selling delicious pecans, while visitors enjoy a chili cook-off, beer garden and a baked goods contest.
Guests can also take part in a 5K marathon, bed races, pumpkin carving contest, carnival rides and live music.
If you are not wanting to miss the big game, a large big screen will be on hand showcasing the Sooners taking on the Longhorns.
The Rodeo Arena will open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Admission is free and open to the public.
