Harrah woman arrested for puppy mill | Crime
HARRAH, OK -- An Oklahoma woman faces multiple animal cruelty charges following a raid of her property Tuesday morning. Authorities got a tip from a concerned neighbor that lead them to the suspected "puppy mill" in the 400 block of Jessica Street in East Oklahoma County. When Harrah Police and Oklahoma County Sheriff's Deputies arrived, they found dozens of dogs, a horse, llama and 16 birds living in filthy conditions.
Investigators say the dogs were tick-infested, malnourished and without fresh drinking water.
Some kennels were so overrun with weeds, the animals were not even visible to the naked eye.
According to Harrah Police Spokesman Phil Stewart, "There were no water sources for these animals and heat into the 100s. It's evident they've been neglected."
Property owner, Tina Rannels, told police she ran low on money and things "just got out of control."
Rannels has been arrested and faces multiple charges of animal cruelty and neglect.
